The Grand Bank Regional Theatre is gearing up for its first extended season.
The theatre company typically only runs a summer festival, but this year, operations are being extended throughout the winter months.
Kicking off the season is an eight-week youth improv program, aimed at getting young people in the area interested in performing and creating a safe space.
Events Coordinator Cody Harvey says no prior performance experience or skills are needed and the program is open to anyone on the Burin Peninsula. Harvey says for the arts community in the area, its vital that young people get involved.
He says there isn’t a lot of opportunities for kids and teens to get involved in the arts in the region, so the program will be a first step for GBRT to provide that service.
Those interested in signing up can contact the box office at 709-832-2282 or go online.
The program starts on January 24.
