The Miawpukek First Nation has a new administrative chief for the first time in over 30 years.
Brad Benoit has been officially named chief after a close by-election held on Friday.
Benoit, who won the election by just five votes, previously served as a councillor with the Miawpukek First Nation.
He will move into the new position under the mentorship of former longtime chief Mise’l Joe, who retired earlier this month.
