A Bailey bridge will be installed to replace the Canning Bridge in Marystown until a new permanent structure is designed and built.
It’s been almost a year since inspectors ordered the closure of the 300 foot span linking Creston North and South.
Design work on the temporary structure will get underway this winter and construction should take about six months once the permitting process is complete.
Meanwhile, work on the permanent structure continues. Harbourside Engineering Consultants was awarded the contract for concept design work on the permanent bridge replacement.
