Hannah Baker and Bonnie Lennox are looking for a leader who believes in climate change and methods to combat it.
“A referendum on climate change” is what they, two students of Holy Heart of Mary High School, are calling the federal election.
Baker, who is voting for the first time today, says climate change will affect her children and grandchildren. She says it is important for her vote to reflect that.

The pair credit Greta Thunberg to why they believe it is a referendum.
Baker says climate change strikes across the country would not have taken place if it was not for her.
She says Thunberg put her foot down first and showed people that it is an important issue that will determine how the generation gets to live.
But Greta Thunberg is not the only person who has connected with youth during this election.
Baker and Lennox believe NDP leader Jagmeet Singh has been doing the best job at using social media during the election.
Lennox says everywhere on social media they look there was information about the NDP party. She says he has done the best at reaching out to youth on a platform that will be the most accessible to them.
