The St. John’s SPCA’s plans to build a new regional facility are moving forward at the city level.
At the most recent council meeting, approval was given to the SPCA’s discretionary use application to build the facility on East White Hills Road.
The organization has been actively fundraising for the new facility through their Way Home Campaign, which would significantly increase their capacity to care for animals.
According to the SPCA website, over $3.6 million has been raised, bringing them about half way to their $6.9-million goal.
