Officials say efforts are underway to resume work at the Muskrat Falls powerhouse after a safety stand down was initiated on Sunday.
According to a statement released Thursday afternoon, Nalcor Energy says Occupational Health and Safety issued a stop work order to two contractors at the powerhouse.
Nalcor says some of the work within the powerhouse has been temporarily halted while safety reviews are completed. However, it is unclear what prompted the initial safety stand down.
Otherwise work continues in some areas of the powerhouse, and across all other areas of the worksite.
Nalcor says it is working with contractors and safety regulator to resume operations.
