Marine Atlantic’s newest ferry, the Ala’suinu will start servicing the Argentia route June 14.
The vessel arrived in North Sydney this week after a lengthy journey from the Chinese shipyard where it was built.
Marine Atlantic’s Darrell Mercer says June 14 may seem like a long time before the ferry enters service, but there are a lot of things that have to happen before it starts taking passengers.
The vessel needs to be reflagged to Canadian, deck and engine trials need to be carried out, IT implementation needs to be done, and it needs to be provisioned to get ready for passengers.
