Canada is leading the way with warnings printed on individual cigarettes and the Alliance for the Control of Tobacco couldn’t be happier.
The new warnings are being rolled out in parts of the country and stores across Canada will only be able to sell labelled cigarettes by the end of July.
ACT Executive Director Kevin Coady says each cigarette will carry one of a variety of blunt warnings.
Including “poison in every puff” or “causes cancer”.
Coady calls it another way to remind people, particularly young people, of the health risks caused by smoking.
“The hope is that some eyes will open and some minds will click in, and some decisions will be made to stay away from this poisonous, addictive product.”
