The Association for New Canadians is spreading the word about their program to help newcomers find work in the construction industry.

Representatives from the ANC were touting the Build Your Future program at the Build 2024 Expo earlier this week.

The program gives people training relevant to the construction industry.

Project lead Mahfuzul Haque says they attended the expo to build connections with those in the industry, and help newcomers connect with the industry as well.

He says some 50 people from their program are now working in the industry. The program has two objectives: To fill needs in the construction industry, and to integrate newcomers into the workforce.
