The province will have its first-ever speedcubing competition this summer.
“Speedcubing” is the act of solving twisty puzzles—such as a classic 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube—as fast as possible.
Speedcubing Canada will host the World Cube Association speedcubing competition in St. John’s on June 22 at Memorial University.
Since the WCA was founded in 2004, more than 200,000 people have competed in such competitions around the world—over 8,100 of those competitors represented Canada.
Anyone who can solve the cube in less than 10 minutes is encouraged to compete. More information on the competition and registration can be found online.
