A 32-year-old man was held at the lockup in St. John’s overnight after turning himself in to police following an assault.
Around 10:30 p.m., metro police responded to the report of an assault, but the suspect had left the area.
Officers identified the suspect through witnesses, but they didn’t need to search for very long, as the man brought himself in to RNC headquarters shortly after the incident.
The man was charged with assault, and remains in the lockup awaiting court.
