It was an unusual sight downtown St. John’s late yesterday afternoon—a man doing punching drills with two knives in each hand.

RNC recognized the 39-year-old and saw a fifth knife on his person, one with a 7-inch blade and inserted in a sheath.

The man was already under court order not to have any knife in his possession. After he refused to comply with commands from police, officers arrested him but not before a brief struggle.

He was taken to the lockup to face numerous weapons charges today.
