The annual Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women takes place tomorrow at Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John’s.
The event is a joint effort of Shoppers Drug Mart and Stella’s Circle.
The run is the largest run in Canada dedicated to women’s mental health. Attendees can walk, run or roll—virtually or in-person, with a 5 km and 10 km walk, and a 1 km walk for children.
Laura Ivany, Marketing Manager with Stella’s Circle says the funds raised this year will go towards building 15 new transitional housing units for women experiencing homelessness and other forms marginalization.
She says that will double the number of units in St. John’s for women experiencing homelessness.
The walk gets underway tomorrow morning at 8:30 at Quidi Vidi Lake near the Pleasantville parking lot.
