We’re heading into the time of year when vacations are in full force and Hospitality NL says all signs point to another busy summer ahead for local tourism operators.
Chair of the organization, Deborah Borden, says it is still early in the season, but bookings are steadily coming in.
She says tourists flock to every nook and cranny of the province to take in everything from culture to wildlife.
St. John’s is no doubt the most visited spot, but Borden says in recent years, they’ve noticed increased travel beyond the overpass. People come to visit and branch out to places all over the island and into Labrador.
Borden agrees the industry’s biggest hurdle is access by both marine and air travel, but says that has been a longstanding challenge due to location.
