Motorcycle drivers from across the Avalon and beyond will be revving their engines on June 15th to raise funds in support of the Prostrate Cancer Fight Foundation.
The disease, the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the country, kills 14 Canadian men every day.
For over a decade, the National Ride Ambassador role has been held by musician Jason McCoy, who you may know from the Canadian country rock group, The Road Hammers.
McCoy became involved with Ride for Dad about 15 years ago – not because of any health issue in his circle, but for the love of motorcycles and wheels. interestingly, a few short years later and his father was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He has since passed away from an unrelated illness but he credits cancer research for giving him an extra 12 years with his dad, which is why he takes the role of Ride for Dad Ambassador with passion.
