Two 22-year-old men are facing sex charges in connection with unrelated alleged offences.

The first is accused of sexual assault against young people, as well as child pornography charges.

Police received a report that a girl had been assaulted and was being treated for injuries.

The RNC’s child abuse and sexual assault unit launched an investigation and determined that the suspect had first propositioned the girl online.

The man is charged with sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm, as well as making, possessing and distributing child pornography. He was released on conditions with a future court date.

Meanwhile, the other 22-year-old man is facing an unrelated allegation of sexual violence.

A single charge of sexual assault causing bodily harm by choking was laid following a report to police in April involving an alleged incident that occurred a month earlier.

The suspect was also released on conditions with a court date set for next month.
