The transition to a green economy has been evident throughout the Energy NL conference in St. John’s this week.
Delegates representing a wide range of players in the energy industry—both big and small—from traditional oil and gas to the emerging hydrogen and wind sector are gathering at the St. John’s Convention Centre.
Sam Imbeault of Everwind Fuels, which is behind a proposed wind and hydrogen project on the Burin Peninsula, says they’ve been attending the Energy NL conference for several years now.

It’s newly-minted President of ExxonMobil Canada, Kerry Moreland’s first Energy NL conference, and she loves it.
“I can tell you, I absolutely love it here,” Moreland says enthusiastically. “I’m happy to make St. John’s my home now,” she tells VOCM News. “I’ve been welcomed with open arms here, just very energized about getting to know the team.”
