The province says preliminary assessments indicate that no personal information has been breached following the theft of sensitive information from a government office in Harbour Grace.
Thirty-eight-year-old Justin Murphy has been charged after a Children, Seniors, and Social Development office was broken into last week, and sensitive client information was taken.
Government says the Office of the Chief Information Officer was immediately notified of laptop thefts. All of the devices are password protected, and access was cut.
Further, government says they have information protection protocols in place, including a clean-desk policy, locked offices and file cabinets for client information.
