As the weather warms up and traffic increases, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is sharing some important safety tips for drivers and cyclists.
Police are encouraging drivers to keep one metre of space from other road users while driving at speeds 60 km/h or less. They say a cyclist has the same rights and duties as a driver of a motor vehicle
The RNC says cyclists also have a role to play when it comes to ensuring safety on our roadways. Police say bike users should always wear a helmet, wear bright clothing and reflective clothing at night, obey all traffic signs and signals, and ensure their bicycle is in good working condition before heading out.
