A woman from Parson’s Pond on the Great Northern Peninsula learned she was a millionaire while driving.
Lori Payne was behind the wheel when her daughter, who was in the passenger seat, decided to check her Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball ticket.
“Pull over, I think you won!” Payne’s daughter exclaimed. When they realized all numbers matched, they started to cry.
They immediately drove to the nearest convenience store to have the ticket validated.
Payne plans to help her two daughters with the money in addition to paying off her bills and vehicle and buying a new home closer to where she works.
“I’m not giving up my job,” says Payne who is a seasonal worker.
