The MHA for Grand Falls-Windsor is echoing the concerns raised by the town about a Family Care Team to serve the region which still does not have physicians on staff.
The town estimates there are 4,000 patients without a primary care provider in the immediate area, with little progress on the recruitment reported to-date.
Chris Tibbs told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly what’s happening is that many people are still funneling through the emergency room, creating greater strain on the local health care system.
And worse, “people are not being diagnosed. People are dying, we have to call it exactly what it is.” He says even the local walk-in clinic isn’t taking patients anymore.
