Those looking to go to the National War Memorial in St. John’s to take in the Memorial Day ceremony have several ways to do so.
The remains of an unknown soldier will be interred at the site tomorrow— which is also the 100th anniversary of the memorial itself.
The ceremony gets underway at 9:30 a.m.
As such, there will be shuttles from Confederation Building to the Sir Humphrey Gilbert Building beginning at 7:30 until 9:15 a.m.
Shuttles going back to Confederation building will begin at 12:15 p.m., running until 1:30 p.m.
People can watch the ceremony from Harbourside Park, Water Street, or Duckworth Street. Several large screens will be in place for viewing.
Access to the War Memorial site itself will be restricted to facilitate ceremonial events.
In addition to the in-person viewing, two alternate viewing areas have been set up—one in the Theatre Room at The Rooms, and the other inside the Fort William Ballroom at the Sheraton Hotel.
