Seats in Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine are expanding for Newfoundland and Labrador students.
Total capacity in the program will increase from 80 to 85 in September, and another five seats will be added in September 2025.
The current makeup of the program consists of 69 seats for NL residents, and 11 for students from elsewhere in Canada.
Government set aside $2 million in this year’s budget for the expansion.
They say it will allow more people to complete their education in the province, and stay and work here after completion.
