The Miawpukek Frist Nation’s annual Powwow gets under way today.
The event, which is in its 29th year, includes three days of events in Conne River.
Culture and tourism supervisor Susan Quann describes it as “three beautiful days of dancing and cultural celebration.”
She says it is simply about people gathering together and enjoying each other’s company.
The powwow is a dry event, so no drugs or alcohol are permitted.
