Olympic curler Brad Gushue is welcoming news that a new multiplex recreation facility is being built in Galway.
Premier Andrew Furey made the announcement yesterday. The new facility will include ice surfaces for both hockey and curling.
That’s good news for Gushue, who calls the announcement “huge.”
He says the curling community has struggled since the ice surface at Bally Haly closed due to the course being sold. He states it is hard for people to find ice time, and the new facility will help them grow the sport.
