A novice driver on Bell Island won’t be getting back behind the wheel anytime soon after they were clocked at nearly double the speed limit.
RCMP stopped the 17-year-old driver on June 28 after they were caught doing 117 km/h on Middleton Avenue, a 60 km/h zone.
Their driver’s license was suspended and vehicle impounded.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old woman, also on Bell Island, had her vehicle taken on Saturday after police found that not only had she been provincially disqualified from driving, but she owed more than $9,000 in fines.
She was issued a ticket for the offence and her vehicle was impounded.
