The Department of Education says it is aware that Operating Grant payments are still owed to some child care operators.
One local operator contacted VOCM News yesterday indicating that she’s going to have to shut down because the provincial operating grant, which is delivered quarterly, is late.
The department says operators must submit quarterly statistics in order to receive payment for child care services.
Payment processing can take up to ten days.
Services who have not yet received payment, but who meet the requirements of the Operating Grant Program will receive payment within the next two business days.
The department has also been in contact with the operator VOCM News spoke with yesterday to ensure there is no disruption for families.
