Starting this fall safety training will be mandatory for young off-road vehicle drivers.
More than 380 drivers have already completed the free safety training program available online.
As of October 15, training will be required for anyone under the age of 16 who uses an ATV or dirt bike. The training also applies to anyone registering an off-road vehicle with the Motor Registration Division for the first time, and who have had their off-road vehicle registration suspended or cancelled because of a previous conviction.
Anyone who is supervising an off-road driver 16 and under will be required to make sure that the driver has completed the necessary training.
