The head of the program which provides free naloxone kits is urging everyone to have a kit on hand, especially when heading out to large gatherings.
Emily Wadden, program manager with the Safe Works access program, has trained thousands on how to administer the potentially life-saving drug in the event of an overdose.
With concerts and festivals attracting people in droves, there is an increased risk someone may find themselves in trouble.
Even if someone doesn’t use drugs themselves or know anyone who uses, Wadden says it is a good idea for everyone to carry one incase of an emergency.
SWAP provides naloxone kits for free and can be picked up at their office or shipped directly to their home.
