A vigil will be held in New Harbour this evening after nineteen dogs were found dead in the community last week.
Toby Cadotte, who is originally from Ontario, was arrested by RCMP after the dogs and puppies were found deceased in the back of a vehicle parked on a residential property.
Two other dogs were found alive and taken to a local animal shelter for treatment.
Cadotte has since been released with a court appearance set for September 25.
A vigil organized by a local animal advocacy group, Safe Haven, will take place tonight at the Dildo Brewing Factory on Harbour Drive beginning at 5:30 p.m.
