RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay have identified a suspect in a number of recent crimes in the community.
Police were kept on the hop on Tuesday, starting with a call about a break-in at the former Paddon Home at 5 a.m. Officers discovered that someone had broken into the vacant Cook Street building, which is under renovation, and emptied a number of fire extinguishers inside, causing damage.
Later that evening, police were called to a robbery on Churchill Street. The suspect in that case was described as wearing a yellow hoodie and shorts. They fled on a stolen scooter before police arrived.
Meanwhile, a bicycle was reported stolen a short time later on White Crescent. Several other items were reported stolen from inside a vehicle parked on the property. The suspect, matching the description of the person in the robbery complaint, left the scene on a bike.
Then, police received a report of a break-in at a home on White Crescent. A number of items were stolen.
The person believed responsible for three of the crimes has been identified and efforts are underway to make an arrest.
