Workplace NL is dealing with a significant backlog of workers compensation cases waiting for an internal review.

In a statement to VOCM News, CEO Ann Martin says the backlog is related to people who disagreed with a decision on their claim, and requested an internal review.

Their policies give a 45-day timeline for a decision on that review.

However, Martin says they have received more requests than usual and there are about 70 requests outside of that 45 day timeline.

Workplace NL is asking for patience as they work through the backlog. Anyone with questions is asked to contact the Manager, Internal Review.
