Taylor Swift tickets are in high demand wherever she plays, and scammers are using the singer’s mega-stardom to cheat people out of their hard-earned money.
Swift has two Canadian stops on her current world tour – Toronto and Vancouver – and tickets for her shows are hot commodities.
The Better Business Bureau is warning ‘Swifties’ about scammers who browse fan sites offering tickets for sale. The scammer will often contact a fan directly and offer tickets for sale. They will ask for an email money transfer for the tickets. After the money is sent, the scammer will stop responding or will provide excuses for not sending the tickets.
By then it’s too late and your money is gone.
The BB is reminding fans and concert-goers to only purchase tickets from legitimate platforms. If possible buy tickets from the venue whenever possible, use protected payment methods and get a good understanding of the refund policy, “and if the deal feels too good to be true, it probably is.”
