Premier Andrew Furey is firing back against critics who worry that proposed schools in Kenmount Terrace and Paradise have fallen by the wayside.
PC Education critic Paul Dinn has raised concerns about both projects over the last few weeks.
He recently noted that government says the Kenmount Terrace school will open in the fall 2026, yet there are no shovels in the ground.
Dinn has once again spoken out about what he says has been a lack of updates around the planning for the new high school in Paradise, announced earlier this year.
Furey accuses the Opposition of “playing politics.”
He says planning is on schedule, and they have committed to getting both projects done.
Infrastructure Minister Fred Hutton spoke specifically to the proposed school in Paradise.
He says government officials met with the mayor last week regarding final site selection, noting they are in the process of finalizing that part of the planning.
