The RNC say two separate investigations into violent activity in the capital city that resulted in charges against two different men appear to be connected.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says police were alerted on the weekend to reports of a stabbing in the LeMarchant Road area.
That incident sent one man to hospital for treatment while the investigation led to the arrest of 39-year-old Stephen Clowe. A number of items were seized, including a handgun, pellet suns, various types of ammunition, multiple bags of cocaine, a bag of Percocet pills, multiple pieces of body armour, and other drug trafficking materials.
The following day a man appeared at RNC Headquarters to report a break-in. It turns out the man is the same one who had been stabbed in the incident on Sunday, resulting in charges against 45-year-old Jason Chafe.
He was scheduled to appear in court today on charges of break and enter, uttering threats, assault and kidnapping. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact the RNC or Crime Stoppers.
