A 64-year-old man is dead as the result of a moose-vehicle collision on the Trans Canada around 7:00 last evening.
The crash near Goobies involved a moose and two vehicles, one of which struck the animal and then veered into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the moose died at the scene.
The second driver was taken to hospital in Clarenville for treatment of injuries suffered in the collision.
The Trans Canada was blocked to traffic for several hours as a result, and reopened to traffic late last night.
