Police are trying to track down a group of hunters after a man showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound suffered while he was scouting out a wooded area to set rabbit snares.
The incident occurred between 1:00 and 1:30 on Saturday, October 26th, about 3 km North/East of Grand le Pierre.
Police say a 22-calibre round was removed from the man at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre.
The victim did not notice any hunters or vehicles in the general area.
Burin Peninsula RCMP are asking anyone who may have been in the area on Saturday afternoon, or who may have information about the incident, to contact them.
