Tomorrow marks the return to Standard Time across the province.
Daylight Saving Time comes to an end tomorrow morning at 2:00 a.m. which means if you have clocks that don’t automatically adjust, to turn them back one hour before going to bed.
The daylight you miss in the afternoon will be gained in the morning, which is better on the body than the spring adjustment ahead of one hour, according to sleep researcher Dr. Sheila Garland.
She says there is evidence of “increased cardiovascular incidents, workplace accidents, more daytime fatigue,” as a result of the spring change, “so the spring forward time change has more of an impact than the fallback one does,” according to Garland.
The seasonal clock adjustment is also a good time to check and replace your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector batteries.
