The replacement for St. Clare’s Hospital is expected to be “significantly bigger” than the current facility.
That’s according to Premier Andrew Furey, who yesterday announced Kenmount Crossing as the site for the new facility.
He says the land for the new hospital will be “quite substantially bigger,” noting that it will be a “campus-style” layout, including a consolidation of some services and the new Cardiovascular and Stroke Institute.
As for who will build the hospital, Furey says no decisions have been made on if it will a P3 model, but they will be entertaining the option “given the success of the Mental Health and Addictions Facility and the Corner Brook hospital.”
