Tomorrow is the National Day of Remembrance for people who have been killed or seriously injured in road crashes, and to that end there is a public event at Confederation Building.
Loved ones are invited to bring along a photo for a display to ring home the true devastation of such incidents.
Patricia Hynes Coates, a former president of MADD Canada, lost her stepson Nicholas Coates in a crash involving a drunk driver at an intersection on Kenmount Road.
Coates says she becomes frustrated when she hears use of the word accident to describe something which was preventable had somebody made a better choice.
The event takes place at 10:30 tomorrow morning in East Block.
