There’s no immediate relief in sight for those tired of the steady diet of rain that’s been falling on the eastern portion of the island for the last four days.
Environment Canada meteorologist Veronica Sullivan says the rain is forecast to continue today and while it has tapered off, showers and drizzle will persist through the weekend and into next week.
A trough has set up over the eastern portion of the province and, with a low to the south, the moisture continues to funnel northward directly over the Avalon.
Sullivan says unfortunately, the sunshine will remain elusive for the next few days.
“It’s looking damp and cloudy, and a lot of the same things happening over and over again, day after day” says Sullivan.
