The part required to fix the sewage station in Paradise arrived in town over the weekend, so crews will begin work installing the system required to accommodate the machinery.
It took longer than expected to arrive because no such part could be had on the island.
Mayor Dan Bobbett says the state of emergency is still in place in the area around the lift station, which is near the CBS boundary.
A new facility will replace that particular wastewater system component in the next few months.
The new system will have redundancies built in whereas the current one is old technology. It’s estimated that the new facility will last for 50 years, says the mayor.
