Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for southern portions of the island warning of higher than usual tides.
Low lying areas of Placentia Bay and parts of the coast line from Channel-Port aux Basques to Ramea can expect elevated water levels exceeding the high tide mark.
Low pressure will coincide with the high tide, causing the possibility of minor coastal flooding, particularly in low lying areas at high tide today and tomorrow.
