St. John’s is closing in on the record for the wettest November in history—probably not surprising to those who have been waterlogged these past few weeks.
Total rainfall at St. John’s International is in the 300 mm range, taking into account yesterday’s soaking. The record for November goes back to 1906 when the tracking station was downtown according to Gander meteorologist Justin Boudreau. That year, metro got 311 mm.
However, the capital city is also closing in on the wettest month in history, which was 333 mm in October of 1892.
