Metro police got a bit more than they bargained for during what was said to be a routine traffic stop yesterday.

RNC pulled a vehicle over in the centre city area just before the supper hour and found that the man behind the wheel had no right being there.

Not only did he not have a licence or registration, his vehicle was missing a licence plate, and he owed over $8,000 in outstanding fines.

Officers issued additional tickets and impounded the vehicle.
