The provincial government has extended the period that receipts for drivers license and registration renewals are valid for due to the ongoing Canada Post strike.
Government says the receipts, which can be presented in lieu of official documents while waiting for them in the mail, are now valid for 60 days instead of 30.
Drivers are reminded to keep their most recent license and registration documents on hand to present with their receipt.
The Department of Digital Government and Service NL says most of the services they provide are done either online or in-person, and are thus unaffected by the strike.
However, if there are any documents that are needed immediately, such as from motor registration, residential tenancies, or vital statistics, delivery by a courier can be arranged.
