A 64-year-old man was arrested and charged with impaired driving after a side-by-side ATV flipped over and crashed into a ditch in Robinsons last night.

Bay St. George RCMP say the machine left the main road at about 8:00. The single occupant was taken to hospital before police arrived.

Officers spoke with the person at hospital in Stephenville who, they say, showed signs of impairment. The man, whose licence was suspended, was arrested after refusing a demand for a blood sample.

He’s set to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. He was ticketed for driving while suspended, and his machine was seized and impounded.
