The Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation earned $60 million in the second quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year ending in October.
That’s $1.7 million more than Q2 of last year.
That’s due in large part to stronger market conditions says CEO Bruce Keating.
Beverage alcohol sales for the second quarter were $85.5 million, up 2.3 per cent from the previous year, mainly due to higher wine and ready-to-drink sales.
Corporate store sales were up 3.4 per cent over the previous year, while the sale of beer through Brewers’ Agents was down 5.5 per cent from the same time last year.
Cannabis sales totaled $25.8 million—an increase of 11.7 percent over Q2 2023.
The dividend paid by NLC to the provincial government totaled $60 million for the quarter.
