A single vehicle collision in Clarke’s Beach that happened on Thursday night could have ended much worse.
Near midnight on Thursday, Spaniards Bay/Tilton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a rollover accident near the Motion area.
When they arrived, a single vehicle was on its roof in about three feet of water.
Fire Chief Curt Roberts says the driver escaped the vehicle on their own before crews arrived. There were no injuries.
The cold water rescue team checked the vehicle and with the help of a tow truck, managed to remove it from a body of water called the “gut.”
