A security officer at the Arts and Culture Centre in St. John’s was sent to hospital with serious injuries on Saturday following a stabbing at the facility.

Police say the incident unfolded shortly before 3:30 p.m. after what’s being described as a “brief interaction” between the employee and another person.

Police have identified a suspect in the incident as Aaron Day. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on a charge of aggravated assault.
